Gottu Rasam

This instant Rasam made by our grannies without powdering or grinding, yet tastes yummy. Also provides a soothing effect during the days of cold or throat pain. Enjoy hot Rasam Rice with pappads or any crisps!!!

Method for making Gottu Rasam:

Heat the pan or kadai with 3 tea spoons of ghee.

Saute with mustard seeds, 1 tea spoon cumin seeds, 1 tea spoon pepper seeds, 2 tea spoons dhania, 2 tea spoons of thur dhal, 3 red chillies and 3  green chillies. Add some hing too. 

After everything splutters pour 2 cups of tamarind juice. Add some turmeric powder, salt and tomato pieces. Allow them to boil for nearly 15 minutes till it becomes half in quantity and the flavour of all ingredients dominate the rasam.

Now add required amount of water and switch off the stove in 3 minutes. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
