Raw Banana Paratha (Vazhaikai Stuffed Paratha)

Have you ever tried and tasted Raw Banana Paratha? If not you have missed one of the delicious type of paratha. A fiber rich, stomach filling recipe that tastes very different. You will be surprised after tasting this Paratha how could you missed this all these days!!!

Ingredients for making Raw Banana Paratha:

Raw Bananas 2

Grated green chillies and ginger 2 tea spoons each

Hing powder 1/4 tea spoon

Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon

Ghee 2 tea spoons

Finely chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves

Wheat flour and water for making roti dough

How to make Raw Banana Paratha?

Step 1

Take 2 cups of whole wheat flour add required salt and a tea spoon of oil and mix well. Add water and knead it to a soft dough. Now the dough is ready for making Parathas. Keep it aside.

Step 2

Remove the stem of the raw banana and steam cook it for 15 to 20 minutes or micro wave it till the skin becomes dark brown.

Make sure the banana is well boiled.
After it gets cool down peel the skin of it.

In a broad bowl mash the boiled raw banana well and add all other ingredients mentioned above except the whole wheat flour and water.

Mix well with your hand.
Make them into small lemon size balls.

Step 3:

Take a big lemon size balls from the wheat dough and roll them into 4 inch diameter thick rotis.
Place the banana stuff on the centre. 

Bring the edges together and make them into balls.

Again roll them into rotis.Cook on both sides in a tawa with oil or butter or ghee.

Serve with any raitha, chutney or pickle. Coriander chutney serves best combination for this paratha.
