Ridge Gourd Gravy (Peerkangai Masala)


Ridge gourd gravy is a tasty, spicy, easy and must try recipe. It can be had with Indian breads and also with rice. 

Ingredients to make Ridge Gourd Gravy:

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ridge gourd peeled and chopped 1 bowl

Oil 4 tea spoons

Onions 2

Tomatoes 1 or 2

Green chilli chopped 1

Finely chopped garlic heads 2 tea spoons

Red chilli powder 1 tea spoons

Coriander powder 2 tea spoons

Cumin seeds powder 1/2 tea spoon

Cumin seeds 1tea spoon

Crushed Cinnamon and cloves 1 1/2 tea spoons

Corn flour 2 tea spoons

Coconut Milk 1 cup (100 ml)

Coriander leaves




Method for making Ridge Gourd Gravy:

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heat oil in a pan. Saute it with cumin seeds. 

Add the crushed clove and cinnamon. 

Fry the Garlic pieces till it turns brown. 

Then add the Onions. Fry them till the color changes. 

Then add tomatoes. 

Let them cook till the tomatoes become pulpy. 

Now add all the powders and salt. 

Fry for a minute in medium flame, add the veggie pieces. 

Stir well and add 2 cups of water. 

Close it with a lid. After 10 minutes add the corn flour diluted in milk to the gravy. 

When it thickens garnish with coriander leaves. 


If you have Kasuri Methi leaves add it before garnishing.
