Tip #20: Magical Multi-Purpose Spicy Powder

Do you want to make your kids to love all veggies and finish off their lunch box without wasting their stuff? Try out this Magical Spicy Curry powder from Bhojana's Smart Samayal Tips that can be used in different ways..

 







How to Prepare the Spicy Powder? 


Corainder seeds 2 cups

Bengal gram 1 cup

Urad dhal 1/2 cup

Red chillies 15

Clove  and Cinnamon together 1 table spoon

Cumin seed 1/2 tea spoon

Pepper 1/2 table spoon

Nutmeg  a pepper size

Dried Coconut chopped pieces 2 table spoons

Dry roast cloves, cinnamon, pepper and cumin seeds till nice aroma comes. Transfer them to a plate. Then, roast Dhania, red chillies and the dhals with 2 table spoons of oil to golden brown. Now powder all the ingredients together to a fine powder. Store the powder in  an airtight box and refrigerate.



How this Spicy Powder can be used?


  • This can be used in any vegetable fry as the masala powder which gives a wonderful taste. 

  • Fry onion and capsicum well in 2 table spoons of oil. Add salt and a table spoon of this powder. Mix with the cooked rice and have with raitha.  

  • Boil any sprouts you have stock to soft. Then saute it with mustard seeds and urad dhal. Then fry some chopped onions and a table spoon of this powder and add salt and boiled sprouts to get a Spicy Sprout Snack!

  • Add a table spoon of this powder and some salt to a bowl of fresh curd and enjoy an innovative raitha for the Parathas.

  • Fry a cup of chopped onions and a cup of chopped tomatoes for 5 to 10 minutes in 3 table spoons oil in a medium flame with salt. Add this curry powder and garnish with coriander leaves to have amazing side dish for idli, dosa and roti.

  • Buy small brinjals, wash them. Remove the upper part and slit them into four at the top. Mix this powder with required salt and stuff each brinjal with a tea spoon of this powder. Give a shallow fry with enough oil or Microwave to have stuffed spicy brinjals.
