Masal Vadai

0

Masal Vadai made adding lot of onion is a popular road side snack in Tamil nadu. The Masal Vadai sold in my school canteen (I am a teacher) always stands special in taste and stays crispy for a long time without becoming hard and dry. I got the recipe from the chef and from then, started to follow the method given by him. Not only as a snack,  in south Tamil nadu many people have the habit of having Masal Vadai as the side dish for Rice.

Here the wholegrain of Blackgram without removing the skin is used and hence it is packed with proteins and fiber. Blackgram is also rich in iron, calcium and Phosphorus.

Puli Pongal is the age old traditional Tamil Brahmin Tiffin. Elders of our families always prefer full meals as brunch around 11 a.m and have tiffin with coffee around 3.30 p.m. This Puli Pongal is one of the tiffin meant for evening tiffin. My grandma used to make this for us to have when we return from school. It tastes very yummy with tanginess and really tickles the tastebuds..

I came to know about this Vellirikkai Dosa through a guest who visited us recently from Mangalore. She was telling about varieties of Dosa they make out of different veggies. One among them is Vellirikkai / Cucumber dosa. Since I had the Cucumber in hand the very next day I tried this Cucumber dosa. It came out very well and I was so happy that I learnt a new and tasty recipe which is also very easy. Cucumber Dosa doesnot need fermentation and can be made very easily without any flaw.

Rava Kharabath

Rava Kharabath is an authentic breakfast item of Karnataka. This Rava Kharabath tastes spicier than our regular Rava upma. Rava Kharabath doesn't need any special side dish to relish with, but tastes very delicious with coconut chutney. Rava Kharabath is an ideal breakfast to make very easily in large quantity when we have more people at home for breakfast..
