Tip #9: Easy Peasy Tikka Masala Paste

Tikka Masala is a delicious, versatile paste. It can be used in variety of Indian dishes like Paneer tikka, Aloo tikka etc., with slight sour flavour. When you expect guests make this paste in advance on the day when you are free and store it. Once you have made the paste No worry and hurry! Ingredients for Tikka Masala Paste:

Corainder seeds 2 tb spoon
Cummin seeds 1/2 tb spoon
Garlic pearls 10
Ginger 2 inch piece
Garam masala powder 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 tea spoon
Kashmiri chilli powder 2 tea spoons (For colour)
Ordinary red chilli powder 3 tea spoons
Salt 1 tea spoon
Vinegar 1 tb spoon
Refined Oil 3 tb spoons
Kasuri Mehthi 1 tea spoon.
Lemon juice 1 tea spoon.



How to prepare the Paste?


First powder the coriander seeds and cumin seeds to a fine powder. Then Add the remaining items mentioned above except last four items  and ground to fine paste with little water. 

Heat a heavy bottomed pan and add oil. Add the paste and stir well in medium flame. Add lemon juice, vinegar and keep stirring. Add 2 table spoon of water to make a thin paste. Cook it till the oil separates. Leave to cool before spooning to air tight jars.

    1. since vinegar is added, can be stored for 15 to 20 days
