Hotel Red Chutney

Red Chutney is the mandatory chutney served as side dish to Idlis and Dosas with White Chutney in almost all the Hotels. We also call its as Kaara chutney which means Hot and Spicy Chutney. Here is the easy way to make this. This can also be used as dip and spread for Bread. Spread it on  Rotis, roll them and enjoy the spicy rolls. Serve this with breakfast and  spice up the day....

Ingredients for making Hotel Red Chutney:


Onions 2
Ripened Firm Tomatoes 3
Tamarind a small marble size
Salt to taste
Garlic heads 3
Red chillies 5 or 6
Oil 1 tb spoon
Mustard seeds for seasoning



How to make Hotel Red Chutney?


Chop the onions and Tomatoes.
Add all the ingredients except oil and mustard seeds to the blender jar.















Grind them to paste without adding water. Juice in tomatoes is enough.
Now heat a pan with oil.
Add mustard seeds.
After they splutter add the chutney to it and keep the flame to medium.
Let it get cooked for 5 minutes till the raw smell goes.
Switch off the stove and allow it cool down.
Now the chutney is ready.
