Ingredients for making Sheer Khorma / Festive Vermicelli Kheer with Dates:
Vermicelli / Semiya 100 gms Ghee 3 tea spoons Milk 500 ml Sugar 200 gms Seedless dates chopped 2 tb spoons Rainsins / dry grapes 2 tea spoons Almonds, pistochios chopped 2 tea spoons each Cashews few Saffron strings 4 soaked in 3 tb spoons of warm milk
How to make Sheer Khorma / Festive Vermicelli Kheer with Dates?
Boil the sugar with 150 ml of water in a vessel. Let it to boil after the sugar dissolves till nice bubbles form. Switch of the stove.
Heat a Pan with Ghee and roast all the nuts and raisins till they become light brown with the dates. Add the vermicelli and fry till it becomes golden brown.
Pour 3/4 th of the milk in to it and stir well. Allow them to boil and stir till the vermicelli gets cooked well. Transfer the sugar syrup to the boiling vermicelli and stir well.
Pour the rest of the milk and saffron string s and mix well. Switch off the stove. Serve it hot or chill and relish the delicious taste...
