Ingredients for making Butter Beans Kurma:
Butter Beans 150 gms Boiled potato 1 Carrots and Beans chopped 1/2 cup Thinly sliced onions 2 Tomatoes chopped 2 Cloves 5, Cinnamon stick 3, and green cardamon 1 roughly crushed Ginger garlic paste 2 Green chillies slitted 2 Red chilli powder 3/4 tea spoon Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon Salt to taste Oil 3 table spoons
For gravy paste:
Grind 4 tablespoons of coconut, 1 teaspoon of kasa kasa (poppy seeds), 1 tea spoon of fennel seeds(perun jeeragam) and 3 cashews to fine paste with water and keep aside.
How to make Butter beans Kurma?
Pressure cook the butter beans and potato to soft and keep aside.
Heat a pan with oil and do the seasoning with cumin seeds.
Once they splutter fry the onions till they become light brown and add the slitted green chillies, tomatoes and fry till they become mushy.
Add the crushed spices and ginger garlic paste and stir well.
Now add the chopped carrots and beans, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and required salt.
Pour 1 cup of water.
Allow them to boil till they get cooked.
Add the boiled potato into pieces and the boiled butter beans.
Add 1 more cup of water and close the pan with a lid.
Simple and healthy for roti and rice !!!
