Aval /Poha is my most favourite and help in hand ingredient in my Kitchen. With Poha / Aval I can make number of recipes easily and since it is easily digestible and rich in iron I use it in all possible ways. This is my another trial with Aval / poha which doesnot need grinding or fermentation...

Ingredients needed for Instant Poha & Bread Adai:
Thin Aval / Poha 2 cups Whole wheat or Multi grain bread slices 3 Pressure cooked Potato well mashed 1 (optional) Grated carrot from 2 carrots Finely chopped onions, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves and curry leaves as much you wish Salt to taste Raw rice flour 2 table spoons Besan flour / kadalai maavu 2 tea spoons Oil for making Adai
How to make Instant Poha & Bread Adai ?
If you are making this as breakfast for kids use potatoes otherwise it is only optional. Pressure cook the potato, peel off the skin, mash it well and keep aside. In a broad vessel take all the chopped items, carrot and required salt, mix well and keep aside. Wash the Poha and soak in water for 5 minutes. Now transfer the poha to a strainer and remove all the water. Add the Poha and bread pieces to the broad vessel with chopped items. Add the flours and mashed potato too.
Mix well with hand and knead like a dough adding a pinch of turmeric powder. If needed sprinkle some water. Take a large lemon size ball and place it on an aluminium foil or banana leaf or plastic sheet. Make thin Adais pressing them gently. Heat a dosa tawa and grease it with oil. Cook the adai on both sides to golden brown and serve with chutney or sambar or tomato ketch up.
I used potato as an agent for binding and when gets roasted in tawa it tastes good. I have mo idea about the potato flakes. If the flakes too have starch content u can use
