Ingredients for making Bottle gourd Adai:
- Parboiled rice 3 cups
- Thur dal 1 cup
- Chana dal (Bengal Gram) 1/2 cup
- Urad dal 2 tb spoons
- Red chillies 6
- Bottle gourd peeled and diced from around 1 k.g of bottle gourd or 2 bowls
- Curry Leaves /asafoetida powder 1/2 tea spoon
How to make Bottle gourd Adai?
Wash and soak the rice and dals together for 3 hours.
Without adding water grind the bottle gourd pieces coarsely and keep aside or grate them in a vegetable scraper and keep aside.
Now drain the water from the soaked rice and dal and add the red chillies and grind to coarse batter with little water.
Now add the grated bottle gourd to it and run the mixie for 10 seconds.
Transfer the batter to the vessel and add required salt, asafoetida powder and curry leaves.
Heat the tawa and grease it with some oil. Spread a ladle full of batter like dosa and drizzle a tea spoon of oil in the centre and around it. Wait for few minutes.
Once it is cooked, turn to other side and cook till it becomes golden brown.
