Recipe for making Andhra Mango Pappu:
- In a pan boil 2 table spoons of Moongh dal and 2 table spoons of Thurdal with surplus water.
- When they are half done, add the peeled raw mango pieces cut from a raw mango with a pinch of turmeric powder, 1/2 tea spoon of red chilli powder, 1/4 tea spoon of asafoetida, 2 tea spoons of Jaggery powder.
- Pour two cups of water to the boiling stuff.
- When the dhals are well boiled add required salt and with the ladle mash the boiled mango pieces and dal together.
- Heat a sauteing pan with 3 tea spoons of ghee.
- Do the seasoning with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, a red chilli, a green chilly and curry leaves.
- Pour on the boiled dhals.
- Mix well and serve.
