Onion Parathas

Ingredients for making Onion Parathas:


  • Whole wheat flour 300 gms
  • Onions normal size 4
  • Oil 3 tb spoons
  • Kashmiri chilli powder 1 and 1/2 tea spoons
  • Garam masala powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
  • Salt to taste


How to make Onion Parathas?

Add required salt to the wheat flour with water and knead to a soft  and tight dough. Apply few drops of oil on the flour and keep aside, covered.
Chop the onions as finely as possible.
Heat a pan with oil and do the seasoning with cumin seeds.


Once they splutter add the onions, chilli powder and turmeric powder to pan and fry.
Add required salt too.
Let them get fried till the onions become golden brown and moist free in medium flame.
Sprinkle a teaspoon of corn flour to the onion, stir well and switch off the stove.
Keep the onion stuff in a bowl.
Take a large lemon size ball from the roti dough and make small round of palm size with the rolling pin.
Place 2 tb spoons of the stuffing in the middle.


Bring the corners to the centre and make a pocket.
Dust it with the flour and gently make rotis with the rolling pin.
Heat a tawa and cook the roti on both the sides to golden brown with oil or ghee.
Serve hot with curd.
