Pineapple Hot and Sweet Pachadi

I love the Pineapple Hot and Sweet Pachadi served in Tamil marriages very much. The flavour of pineapple with salt, sweet and hotness really tickles the taste buds and makes me to ask for the second time. I make this often at home as a side dish for bread toast and Rotis too...

Ingredients for making Pineapple Hot and Sweet Pachadi:

Pine apple pieces / chunks 10 to 15
Jagerry powder 2 tb spoons
Sugar 2 tb spoons
Salt 1/4 tea spoon
Red chilli powder 1/8 tea spoon
Ghee 2 tea spoons
Mustard seeds
Red chillies 1


How to make Pineapple Hot and Sweet Pachadi?

In a broad pan pour 3 cups of water and boil the Pineapple pieces for 10 minutes.
Take the boiled pieces alone and give few turns in a blender.
Don't throw away the water, let it be in the pan.
Add this pulp again to the pan which has the boiled water in it.
Add a pinch of turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder and allow to boil.
After five minutes add the jagerry powder and sugar.
When the stuff becomes thick enough switch off the stove.
Do the seasoning in ghee with mustard seeds and red chilli and add to the Pineapple Hot and Sweet Pachadi.
