Nei Kadalai (Fried Masala Chana Dal)

Ingredients for making Nei Kadalai:

 

Chana dal (Kadalai paruppu, Split Chick pea, Bengal gram)

Oil for frying

Salt, Hing powder and Red Chilli Powder





Method for making Nei Kadalai:

 

 


Soak the Chanadal in water for 4 hours.



After 4 hours drain the water out completely and Spread it on a Kitchen Towel.



Heat the oil in a pan and deep fry the soaked and drained handful of chana dal. 



When it turns golden brown take it out.



Repeat it with the other soaked dal.



Mix the salt, turmeric , chilli and hing powder well and add to the fried dal items.
