Simple & Spicy Broccoli

An interesting and tasty way to make your kids to love Broccoli that is packed with very strong anti-oxidants. This  simple  Broccoli recipe brings a great taste as the side dish to rice and any Indian bread varieties. Broccoli along with Potatoes and Bell pepper is spiced up and flavoured with chilli powder and Garlic. Addition of fresh ginger and green chillies make them more spicy and flavoured...

Ingredients for making Simple & Spicy Broccoli, Potato Stir Fry:


Broccoli florets from a normal size Broccoli
Boiled or pressure cooked to soft Potatoes, diced from 2 potatoes
Thinly sliced Onions from 1 onion
Capsicum / Bell pepper thinly sliced from 1 ( I used Red capsicum)
Finely chopped Garlic and Ginger 1 tea spoon each
Roughly crushed Cloves and Cinnamon sticks 1/2 tea spoon
Cumin seeds 1/2 tea spoon
Red chilli powder 1 tea spoon
Green chillies slitted 2
Oil 2 or 3 table spoons



How to make Simple & Spicy  Broccoli, Potato Stir Fry?


Wash the florets in salt water and keep aside.
Peel off the skin of boiled potatoes dice them and keep aside.
Heat a pan with oil and do the seasoning with cumin seeds.
Once they splutter fry the Ginger, garlic, green chillies with clove and cinnamon.
Then add the onions, required salt, red chilli powder  and fry till it becomes transparent.
























Now add the Bell peppers and give a stir.
Put the potatoes into it and mix well.
Let it get shallow fried in medium flame for 7 to 10 minutes.
Finally add the Broccoli florets and mix well.
Allow them to get coated well with the spices and cooked by simmering.
Let them get cooked for 10 to 15 more minutes.
Now the spicy stir fry is ready to serve.
