Masal Dosa (Dosa with Potato curry)



Masal Dosa of South India has fans across the world. In fact it is the iconic dosa of Tamilnadu. Crispy dosas stuffed with Potato, Onion fry no doubt anybody will get  addicted to this Masal Dosa...

 

Ingredients for making Potato Stuffing:

 

 


 













Well boiled Potatoes 4

Tomatoes chopped from 2 tomatoes

Onions chopped from 4 Onions

Slitted Green chillies 5 or 6

Curry leaves 

Mustard seeds and Urad dhal for seasoning

Besan flour 2 table spoons

Oil 3 table spoons


Method for making Potato Stuffing:


 


 

 












Mash potatoes with hand to small pieces and keep aside.

 

Heat the pan with oil and add mustard seeds, urad dhal and curry leaves. 

 

Add onions, green chillies and fry for few minutes with salt and turmeric powder. 

 

Add tomatoes and fry them in medium flame till tomatoes get cooked well. 

 

Now add the potatoes and mix well. Dilute the besan flour in a cup of water and add to the cooking stuff. 

 

It will bind the curry well. Now the stuffing is ready.



 


Method for making Masala Dosa:


Make thin dosa as usual and place the Potato Masal in the centre and slightly flatten it with the ladle.


 











Pour a teaspoon of oil around the dosa.  Close the tawa with a lid and keep the stove in medium flame. 

 

After 3 minutes. Take the dosa from the tawa and roll it and serve. It need not be cooked on both the sides. 

 






















If you wish you can cook on both sides too.
