Ingredients for making Poha, Murmur&Oats Idlis:
Thin Poha / Aval /Beaten Rice 1 cup (I used red Poha)
Dry Roasted Oats 1 and 1/2 cups
Puffed rice / Pori / Murmur 1cup
Curd with very mild sourness 100ml
Salt to taste
Plain Eno fruit salt a pinch (Optional)
How to make Poha, Murmur&Oats Idlis?
Dry roast the oats till nice aroma comes in medium flame and let it to cool down.
Mix all the three ingredients together and powder them in a blender.
Add required salt and pour the curd to the powder with water.
Let the batter be a thicker one than regular idli batter.
Grease the idli plates with oil.
Add the eno salt and give a fast stir to the batter. If needed add little more water.
Fill the idli plates with the batter and steam them for 15 minutes.
Allow it to set down for five more minutes and scoop them out.
Serve with Chutney or Spinach Sambar.
Can we add 1 cup of urud powder for flavor and protein?
ReplyDeletethis idli does not require it. In case if you are particular, avoid oats and add just half cup of urad dal powder
DeleteI did d exact method written bt I failed. d consistency was exactly like milkshake consistency. bt wrn my idli maker gave sound, I opened it to check and found d batter spreaded everywhere. den I added Sooji to d batter for thick consistency. Totally failed recepi
ReplyDeleteHi sorry for the very late reply..kindly follow this another version of measurements and try.. Adding eno salt just before pouring the batter to plates is very important. If you add it in advance you may get a messed one
