A mouth watering soup from the International cuisine. No doubt that it is a treat for the lovers of Onion. Very easy to make at home .
Ingredients for making French Onion Soup:
Vegetable Stock 1 litre
Onions finely shopped into 1 inch length from 4 onions
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Pepper and Salt powder
Butter 50 gms
Corn flour two tea spoons
Fried bread cubes as required
How to make Vegetable Stock?
In a heavy bottomed kadai add chopped fresh vegetables that you have stock. (Like carrot, beans, peas, cabbage, baby corn, greens etc).
Add generous amount of water and allow it to boil. Once it starts boiling well keep the stove in low flame and let it boil for in hour in simmering.
Once the veggies become very soft mix them well and filter the vgetables and take the water out separately for the soup base.
French Onion Soup:
In a pan heat the butter. Add a tea spoon of crushed garlic pearls and the onions and a tea spoon of sugar. Fry them well till the onions become brown in colour.
Now add the vegetable stock to it and allow it to boil.
Add salt and pepper powder.
Mix 2 tea spoons of corn flour in a cup of water and add to the boiling soup and stir till it thickens in few minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves and fried bread pieces before serving.
