Traditional Coconut Chutney Type 3 (Getty Thengai Chutney)

This is the typical Nellai style coconut chutney made for Dosa and Adai. Shallots are used in this chutney to get special flavour. Very less water is used to get thick chutney. It also tastes good to have with Tamarind rice or Lemon rice....

Recipe for making Traditional Coconut Chutney:





Grated coconut from Half coconut

Roasted gram 1 tb spoon

Green chillies 2 or 3

Shallots (baby onions) 5 to 7

Salt to taste


Grind all the above items together without adding water in a mixie. When they get powdered  well add little water and grind well... Now the tasty chutney is ready to be served...
