Ingredients for making Thakkali / Tomato Pachadi :
Ripened and Firm tomatoes finely chopped from 3 tomatoes Grated fresh coconut 3 tb spoons Green chillies 3 Ginger peeled an inch Salt to taste Fresh curd 250 ml Oil 3 tea spoons Mustard seeds, rad dal and curry leaves for seasoning
How to make Thakkali / Tomato Pachadi?
Heat a pan with oil and do the seasoning with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves. Once they splutter add a pinch of asafoetida and put the tomatoes and add required salt.
Keep frying in medium flame till the tomatoes are cooked well.
Switch off the stove and keep it aside for getting cold. Grind the coconut, green chillies and ginger to paste adding some water.
Add the paste to the curd and mix well without any lumps.
Once the fried tomatoes are cooled down add them to the curd.
