During festival seasons we have more number of bananas in hand that too some times ripened ones which we hesitate to eat. Try this healthy, tasty banana halwa by using excess bananas in hand. It is a wonderful dessert too...
Peel the skin and mash the Bananas with hand or a potato masher and keep aside.
Grease a plate with ghee well and keep aside. Heat a heavy bottomed or non stick pan with two tea spoons of oil. Add the banana pulp to it and stir well for 3 to five minutes continuously in medium flame.
Now add the Jaggery powder in to it. The Jaggery will mix with the pulp and it will start melting due to heat. Keep stirring adding a teaspoon of ghee then and there.
Patiently stir in medium flame till the stuff tightens and rolls to a whole ball without sticking to bottom. it will take 15 minutes. Transfer the stuff to the greased plate and level it with a greased spatula and sprinkle the nuts on it.
Leave it undisturbed for 15 minutes. Then with a knife cut them to pieces. It can be stored for a week in refrigerator.
Easy yum and interesting !!!
