Kathamaba Dosa (Mixed Sprouts Dosa)

I had very small portions of varieties of legumes left over and hence thought of trying a new Dosa variety with these legumes and started my project!  The result was awesome. I was so happy of finding out a new tasty dosa variety which is very healthy with rich protein, fibre content  and low carbohydrate...

  • Pre time: 15 minutes
  • Cooking time: 30 minutes
  • Serves: 4

Ingredients for making Kathamaba Dosa (Mixed Sprouts Dosa):

  • Brown rice 1 cup
  • Black urad dal (Whole) 1/8 cup
  • Soya beans (White) 1/8 cup
  • Ragi 1/8 cup
  • Green grams 1/4 coup
  • White sorghum/cholam 1/4 cup
  • Cow peas(Thattam payar) 1/4 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for making Dosa

How to make Kathamaba Dosa (Mixed Sprouts Dosa)?

Except oil and salt mix all the above ingredients in a vessel, wash them well and soak in water for atleast 6 hours.
After six hours grind them to fine batter in a blender or wet grinder adding required salt.
This batter does not need eight hours of fermentation.
Just 4 hours is enough.
After four hours refrigerate the batter and make dosa whenever it is needed.
I made small thick dosas which resulted with browny crispy edges and soft in the middle.
The taste was simply superb.
I served it with tomato thokku.

  1. Hi,

In the photo showing all the ingredients, is having 7 on the plate, but under the ingredients list, there are only 6 sprouts. I have a feeling that one ingredient is missing in your list.

    Thanks
