This is a very famous combo meals of Tirunelveli natives which provides a balanced diet and served hot usually on special family occasions and get togethers….

Rice 4 cups
Splitted black gram 1 cup
Fenugreek ½ tea spoon

Wash the rice and gram together and add 13 cups of water (as we add for the regular rice). Add the rest of the ingredients to it and pressure cook it as usual with required salt.

II SESAME CHUTNEY:
Fry 3 table spoons of sesame in a pan without oil till it splutters and keep aside.
Fry 4 red chillies in  a tea spoon of oil.
Now  grind the redchillies with a cup of fresh grated coconut, little tamarind and salt. Finally add the roasted sesames and grind well with little water. Now the chutney is ready.

III LADY’S FINGER GRAVY:

Ingredients:
Lady’s finger ¼ k.g
Green chillies 3
Red chilli powder 1/2tea spoon
