Mouth Melting Coconut Burfi

Coconut Burfi is the Traditional and Popular Sweet made with less ingredients. Since it is quite easy to make we make it often during different Vrat and Festive occasions. Not only on festivals but it is also made as snack for kids. Make this simple delicious coconut fudge and enjoy the mouth melting dessert....

  • yields: 25 pieces

Ingredients for making Coconut Burfi:

  • Grated coconut  1 cup heaped
  • Sugar  1 cup levelled
  • Ghee 2 table spoons
  • Cardamom powder 1/4 tspoon

Method for making Coconut Burfi:

Add half cup of water to sugar in a broad kadai and heat it.
Let it to boil till it reaches one string consistency. 
Meanwhile grease a plate and keep it ready. 
Add the grated coconut and elaichi powder 1/4 tea spoon and keep stirring.
When the bubbles and foam start forming at the edges and everything comes together add 2 tables of ghee and keep stirring.
When the foamy whitish bubbles form and the mixture thickens , transfer it to the greased plate. 

Wait for 5 minutes and then cut it into pieces when it is warm.

Note: The coconut should be added to sugar syrup when it comes to one string consistency. Otherwise the burfi will become hard.While grating the coconut leave the coconut near the shell since it will change the colour of the burfi  to brown
