Ginger Flavoured Cabbage and Peas Curry


A simple, delicious and different side dish to relish with rice, rotis and phulkas. When you get bored of tasting cabbage in the usual way try this stir fry that tastes really different and gives wonderful feel...

Ingredients for making Ginger Flavoured Cabbage and Peas Curry:


Finely chopped or grated cabbage 500 gm
Fresh green peas 50 to 100 gms
Fresh grated coconut 3 tb spoons
Green chillies 2
Ginger piece an inch after peeling off the skin
Cumin seeds 3/4 tea spoon
Salt to taste, Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
Coconut oil 3 tea spoons
Mustard seeds and Urad dal for seasoning 1/2 tea spoon each



How to make Ginger Flavoured Cabbage and Peas Curry?


Put coconut, green chillies, ginger and cumin seeds in a blender and powder coarsely.
Keep aside.
Boil the chopped cabbage in a steamer or pressure cooker to soft adding salt and keep aside.
Heat a pan with oil. Do the seasoning with mustard seeds and urad dal.
Add the green peas and turmeric powder and stir well.
Keep the flame to medium and allow the peas to get cooked for 2 to 3 minutes sprinkling handful of water.









Add the boiled cabbage to it and keep the flame high.
Wait till the stuff becomes dry without water. Check out for salt. If needed add some.











Now put the coconut stuff to it and stir well.
Let them blend well for two more minutes.
The Awesome curry is ready now.
