The Simplest Green Peas Pulao

A simple recipe of home made Peas Pulao. The fried onions, garlic, ginger and spices mix up and give out an exotic taste and awesome aroma. This is indeed the simplest rice pulao that can be made dazzling with any Paneer gravy  as side dish...

Ingredients for making Green Peas Pulao:


Fresh green peas 1 cup

Basmati rice or Raw rice 2 cups

Chopped Onions 2

Finely chopped ginger and garlic 3 tea spoons together

Green chillies slitted 3 or 4

Cumin seeds 1 tea spoon

Coriander leaves 

Bay leaves 2 or 3

Coarsely Crushed cinnamon and cloves 1 tea spoon

Oil 1 tb spoon and Ghee 1 tb spoon




Water for raw rice 1: 2 &1/2 and basmati rice 1: 1&1/2



 

 

 

 

 

 

 















Method for making Green Peas Pulao:


Wash the rice, drain the water out and keep it aside atleat for 15 minutes.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 













Meanwhile heat the pressure pan or cooker with the oil and ghee. Add the cumin seeds. Once it gets splutter add the bay leaves. Fry the ginger garlic pieces. Then fry the onions till they become transparent. 

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

 












Add the green chillis and peas. Fry them in medium flame for 3 minutes. Add the drained rice and fry together gently for 15 seconds.


Now add 5 cups of water. (Add 3 cups of water if you are using Basmati rice). Add required salt.Keep the flame high.









 







Close the cooker with the lid and wait till the steam comes out well.Now put the wait and keep the flame to minimum. Wait for 15 minutes in case of raw rice and 10 minutes if you are using Basmati rice. Switch off the stove. 

 

Open the lid after 15 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves. The Peas Pulao is ready now.
