Instant Kheer with Biscuits

A newly married couple visited me last week and  the time was too short to make any traditional dessert before they arrive. It  made me to experiment this new dessert. I had only 1/2 litre of milk and some dry fruits in refrigerator . They loved the dessert very much and were surprised to know that biscuit was added to it.  Here is the recipe of the easiest and yummy kheer..



Recipe of Instant Kheer with Biscuits:


  • Boil 1/2 litre of milk in a wide and deep pan or pressure pan with few strings of saffron for 15 minutes. If you don't have saffron no problem.just skip it. Just add 1/4 tea spoon of green cardamom powder.

  • Add chopped nuts in hand like cashews, pistas, almonds, and some Charoli seeds ( Saara Paruppu)

  • If you have dates at home add finely chopped dates and reduce the quantity of Sugar.

  • Add 200 gms of Sugar. ( I added 2 cups). Stir well  till it dissolves.

  • Take 5 to 7 biscuits (any biscuits other than salt biscuits) crush them to powder by hand or in a blender and add to the boiling milk and stir well.

  • In few minutes when it thickens switch off the stove.

  • Serve it hot or chill.
