Millet Dosa


Millets were used in olden days by our ancestors but nowadays its totally forgotten. It is a good source of proteins, minerals and is gluten free. It is high in fibre and easy to digest. Millets can be substituted for rice in our everyday cooking. One such recipe is this soft sponge dosa...


Ingredients:

Varagarisi           -    2 cups
(Kodo millet)
Kudiraivali         -    2 cups
(Barnyard millet)
Full Urad Dal     -    4 handful
Poha                   -    1 cup
(Rice flakes)
Fenugreek seeds -   1 tbspn   

Method:


Soak all together for 3 hours and grind in a grinder. Allow it to ferment overnight. To make dosas heat dosa tawa , smear oil and make soft sponge dosas. Cook on both sides. Millet sponge dosa is ready. Serve it with chutney of your choice.
Note: 
1.You can even make dosa with saamai(little millet)with the same proportions.
2. Crispy thin dosas cannot be made out of his batter.
