Store spices in cool and dark place and not above or near the stove. The heat and humidity make the spices to lose their flavour fastly.


While seasoning or sauteing if you feel that you need more oil, pour the oil with a spoon from the edge of the pan and while it reaches the middle it will get heated to right degree.


While boiling cauliflower with water add 2 tablespoons of milk to water which makes cauliflower to look brighter and whiter.

 

Potatoes soaked in saltwater for 20 minutes cook rapidly.


If you forget to soak channa or rajma overnight, soak them in hot water in a casserole for 2 to 3 hours to get the same effect. A pinch of baking soda can be added in the water.


Before boiling the rice adding a teaspoon of oil and lemon juice gives pure white colour and non sticky rice.


Before grating Cheese, apply some oil in the grater so that the cheese comes out very easily and will be non sticky.
