Oats and Wheat Rava Idli

Oats and Wheat Rava idli is a healthy and Tasty Breakfast, Dinner and Lunch box Tiffin for Diabetic and Diet cautious people. This Idli mix can be made in advance and whenever needed can be made very easily and quickly. Oats and Wheat Rava idli comes out very softly and does not become dry even after hours. It tastes delicious with Tomato and Onion Chutney or Sambar. Make this low glycemic and high fiber idlis as a regular item of your menu.

Ingredients for making Oats and Wheat Rava Idli:

 

Roasted Wheat Rava 1 cup

 

Roasted Oats and Wheat Rava

Roasted Oats 2 cups

 

Fresh curd 2 cups

 

Mustard seeds, urad dhal and Chana dhal for seasoning

 

Salt to taste

 

Method for making Oats and Wheat Rava Idli:

 

Powdered Mix

In a pan dry roast wheat rava till it becomes hot and keep aside. 

 

Then in low flame dry roast oats carefully till nice aroma comes and the colour changes slightly. Let them to cool for a while.

 

Then put them together in the mixie jar and give out a turn. Don't powder them finely. It should be coarse powder.

Mix them in a bowl with curd, salt and enough water to form a batter. Saute it with mustard seeds and dhals in a teaspoon of oil.



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Allow to soak the powder in curd for 30 to 45 minutes. Then grease the Idli plates and fill them with the batter and steam them out for 20 minutes.
