Crispy and Instant Onion Pakodas

Ingredients for making Onion Pakodas:


Thinly sliced onions from 3 onions
Besan flour 2 cups (Chickpea flour)
Rice flour 1 tb spoon
Red chilli powder 1 1/2 tea spoons
Finely chopped green chillies 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying



How to make Onion Pakodas?


  • In a broad bowl take sliced onions. Add required salt to it. Keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  • You will the onions mixed with salt given out some water.
  • In the same bowl add all other ingredients mentioned above and mix well with hand.
  • If needed sprinkle some water. Mostly there won't be a necessity to add water.
  • If you want the Pakodas to be more aromatic and spicy can add some crushed garlic and Mint leaves. But I didnt add.
  • See to it that if you hold the mixture tightly in hand it binds well. That is the right consistency.
  • Now heat oil in a pan and deep fry the Mix in small lots to crispy and brown.
