Spiced Cauliflower Stir Fry

An exciting , delightful and delicious curry to serve with rotis. chapathis and rice. Make a spicy shallow fry with less oil and get the taste of deeply fried cauliflower. The roasted and powdered fresh spices add flavours and tickle your taste buds...

Ingredients for making Spiced Cauliflower Stir Fry:


Cauliflower 1 (Normal size)
Oil 2 tb spoons
Coriander seeds 1 tb spoon
Red chillies 6
Cumin seeds 1/4 tea spoon
Chana dal 2 tea spoons
Cloves 3
Cinnamon stick a small piece
Chopped curry leaves
Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Besan flour and Corn flour 1 tea spoon each



How to make Spiced Cauliflower Stir Fry?


Boil water in a big vessel and when it starts boiling well immerse the cauliflower in it adding some salt and allow to boil for 3 minutes.
Switch off the stove and take out the vegetable.
After it gets cooled down remove the stems and get small florets out of it and keep them aside in a bowl.

Heat a pan and dry roast Coriander seeds, red chillies, chana dal, cloves and cinnamon till the nice aroma comes and the dal changes its colour. Finally add the cumin seeds to it and give a stir. Switch off the stove. Powder them in a mixie and keep aside.










  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with 2 tb spoons of oil. Add turmeric powder and salt to the oil after it gets heated.
  • Add the florets to the pan and stir well. Let the florets get fried in medium flame. Don't cover the pan with the lid since already the vegetable is half boiled in water. 
  • When the vegetable becomes well boiled keep the flame to high and the spice powder and mix well. Add the curry leaves and stir the veggies for every two minutes till they become well fried.
