Nendram Pazham Pradaman / Plantain fruit Kheer

Ingredients needed for making Nendram Pazham Pradaman / Plantain fruit Kheer :


Ripened Nendram pazham 4 or 5
Powdered Jagerry 200 gms or 2 cups
Thick coconut milk from 1 cocobnut approximately 300 ml
Dry ginger powder / Chukku powder 1/2 tea spoon
Chopped coconut pieces, cashews and kismiss fried in ghee
Ghee / clarified butter 4 tea spoons
Green cardamon powder 1/2 tea spoon



How to make Nendram Pazham Pradaman / Plantain fruit Kheer?


  • Peel the skin of the fruit and finely chop them
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan with ghee and fry the pieces in low flame till nice aroma comes.
  • Pour 2 cups of water and allow them to cook well.
  • Once the water becomes minimum in quantity add the powdered jagerry into it and mix well.
  • add 2 cups of water too.
  • Let them boil for 10 minutes well.
  • Add the dry ginger powder, cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Once it becomes like a porridge to thick consistency pour the thick coconut milk into it, give a fast stir and switch off the stove.
  • Garnish with the roasted items.
