Butter Mullu Murukku


An easy way to make mouth melting, crispy Mullu Murukku with minimum ingredients. By following this method with Just with 2 table spoons of butter  you can make your murukku as tasty as it is made of fully butter...

Ingredients for making Butter Mullu Murukku:


Store bought Rice idiyappam flour 4 full cups (heaped)
Roasted gram powder / Pottu kadalai maavu  1 and 1/2 cup
Asafoetida powder 1/2 tea spoon
Ted chilli powder 1 tea spoon
Butter (Un salted) 1 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Oil for frying




How to make Butter Mullu Murukku?


In a bowl add Idiyappam flour and Roasted gram powder, mix well and sieve them.
Add salt, red chilli powder and butter to the flour.











Heat generous amount of water in a vessel. Wait till it boils well.
Pour the boiled hot water to the to flour slowly with one hand and with a a ladle or spatula keep kneading the flour to dough.
Pour water more whenever necessary till it reaches soft roti dough consistency.














Heat oil in a pan.
Take a ball of dough and put it into the Mullu Murukku mould.
Squeeze it to small rounds on the back of a flat ladle or greased paper and put them into the oil.












If you are not particular to get them in perfect rounds, you can directly squeeze the dough in to the oil.
Fry till they get cooked.
