Ingredients for making Idli Pepper Fry:
Thinly sliced Onions and Capsicum 2 tb spoons each
pepper powder 1/2 tea spoon
Mustard seeds & Cumin seeds / Jeeragam 1/2 tea spoon each
Green chillies 2
Salt 1/4 tea spoons (Idli batter already has salt )
How to make Idli Pepper Fry ?
Grease the mini idli plates with oil and pour the batter in to it.
Steam them for 15 minutes and scoop them out, keep aside.
Heat a broad and flat pan with 5 tea spoons of oil.
Place the idlis on the pan and let them get shallow fried on both sides for some time.
Take them out.
Again heat the pan with 2 tea spoons of oil.
Do the seasoning with mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
Once they splutter add the onions and fry for few minutes adding green chillies.
Now add the capsicum and 1/4 teaspoon salt and stir for few seconds.
Add the idlis to the pan and toss them well.
The Pepper Idli Fry is ready to serve.
For kids you can add ghee for sauteing instead of oil.
