Ingredients for making Wheat Flour Kheer (Gothumai Maavu Payasam):
- Whole wheat flour 5 tea spoons
- Ghee 5 tea spoons
- Milk (at room temperature) 400 ml
- Sugar 6 table spoons
- Cashews, Almonds and raisins for garnishing
- Saffron few strings soaked in 1 tb spoon of warm milk (optional)
- Green cardamom powder 1/2 tea spoon
How to make Wheat Flour Kheer (Gothumai Maavu Payasam)?
Heat a pan with 3 tea spoons of ghee.
When the ghee is hot enough keep the flame to low and add the wheat flour.
Stir continuously for a minute till nice aroma comes.
Now gently pour the milk in to the pan and keep stirring it with another hand so that you can avoid formation of lumps.
Let it to boil for three minutes till reaches porridge consistency.
Add the sugar and wait till it dissolves. Pour the soaked saffron in to it.
After a minute switch off the stove. Sprinkle the cardamom powder.
Fry the nuts and raisins in remaining ghee and do the garnishing.
Serve hot or cold.
