  • Pre time: 05 mins
  • Cooking time: 20 mins
  • Yields: 50 pieces

Ingredients for making Kesar Peda:

  • Milk with fat 200 ml
  • Condensed Milk 1 tin (200 gms)
  • Milk Powder 200 gms
  • Powdered Sugar 1/2 cup (6 tb spoons)
  • Saffron strings 8 to 10
  • Cardamom Powder 1/2 tea spoon
  • Pistachios cut in to halves few
  • Butter 1/2 tea spoon

How to make Kesar Peda?

Soak saffron strings in 1/4 cup of warm milk and keep aside.
Boil 200 ml of milk in a pan for 05 minutes.
Pour a tin of condensed milk into the boiling milk and stir for few seconds.
Allow to boil in medium flame for 10 minutes.
Add the milk powder and powdered sugar to it and mix well.
While stirring add the milk with the saffron strings and keep stirring without allowing to get burnt at the bottom.
You can notice the stuff becoming thicker gradually.
Add the cardamom powder too.
Once the Kesar peda stuff becomes tight like the roti dough, transfer it to a plate and allow to cool.
Grease the palm with butter and make small gooseberry size balls from the dough.
Gently press in the middle and place a pistachio on it and give another press.
Now the yummy Kesar peda is ready.
