Tip #15: Quick Snacks For Kids and Youth

Here are some quick, simple and silly homemade snacks from Bhojanarecipes's Smart Samayal Tips to make your children happy when they return from school. Not only kids, everybody love these snacks....



Powder some Oreo biscuits and Marie biscuits and add some chopped nuts to it.For binding add 2 tea spoons of pea butter or Nuttela and make them into balls and give this crunchy balls for munching.

 

Spread a thin layer of butter on both sides of the breads. Keep them in the grill mode in the microwave oven for 7 minutes. Then again keep the other side of the bread to get toasted in the grill mode for 5 more minutes. Take them out. Cut them into cubes or long strips. Coat the with powdered sugar or honey.

 

Make puree of a banana, a chikoo and a cup of thick cold milk with a table spoon of honey in a blender to smooth and serve.


 Heat a tablespoon of butter and add 3 tea spoons of sugar and when it becomes brown add 3 cups of pop corn and stir well. Instant Caramelized butter popcorn is ready, Have after it gets cooled.

 

Mix 2 cups of poha, 1/2 cup of grated jaggery and 1 table spoon of grated fresh coconut. Add a pinch of cardamom powder. Make a coarse powder in the blender. Make into poha sweet balls.

 

Take 4 idlis. Cut each idli into 4 pieces. Slit each idli and insert a piece of lime pickle into it. Deep fry in oil. Idli tit bits ready.

 

Take a cup of wheat flour. Make a paste of greenchilli, ginger, garlic and coriander leaves. Add it to wheat flour and make it into a dough. Make chappatis and cut them into diamond shaped pieces. Fry them in oil. It has a longer shelf life. 

 

If you have more mixture savoury (chewda) brought by guests at house, add some chopped onions,tomato, grated carrot, a tea spoon of tomato sauce and green sauce. Add a pinch of chat masala. Instant bhel puri ready.
