Wheat Rava Vegetable Upma

Wheat Rava Vegetable upma is a simple, healthy and easily digestible tiffin that can be made either for breakfast or dinner. Wheat rava is cleaned and husked  but does not under go any refining process. So it is healthier than ordinary Rava (sooji). Wheat Rava, when cooked, gives a hearty and warm aroma with delightful taste...



Ingredients for making Wheat Rava Vegetable Upma:

Wheat Rava - 2 cups
Water - 5 cups
Chopped onions , Capsicum and Tomatoes - 1 cup
Any chopped green vegetables of your choice - 1 cup
Green chillies - 5
Curry leaves and Coriander leaves for garnishing
Oil 2 table spoons



Method:


Heat a pressure pan or heavy bottomed kadaai with 2 table spoons of oil.


Saute it with mustard seeds, urad dhal, bengal gram and once they splutter add onions and fry for few seconds.

           




Add tomatoes and capsicum and fry for 2 minutes. Now add the rest of green vegetables and mix well.








Now add the wheat rava and fry well for 2 minutes in mediumflame. Add required salt and 5 cups of water. Mix well and close the pan with a lid.


Keep the stove in low flame for 15 minutes.



After 15 minutes open the lid and give a gentle stir . If the water is absorbed fully and the upma is well cooked switch off the stove. Or else cook them for few more minutes in low flame. Garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves. 



Serve hot with any  Chutneys or Pickle.
