Roasted Gram Chutney (Pottukadalai Thogaiyal)

Pottukadalai or Porikadalai is the tamil name of Roasted Bengalgram. Pottukadalai chutney is the authentic chutney of Tamilnadu that serves as the best companion for Lemon rice, Puliyodarai,Coconut rice, Sesame rice,  Rawmango rice etc., It also tastes very good to have with curd rice. A very simple side dish with fantastic taste....

Recipe to make Roasted Gram Chutney:


Take Roasted gram and Grated coconut in the ratio 4:1.

Gram should be more than coconut for this chutney.

Add 4 to 5 green chillies, 5 garlic heads and required salt to it.

Grind them together to thick chutney by just sprinkling less water.

Keep in mind that this chutney needs less salt.
