Freshly Spiced Cluster Beans (Kothavarangai Masala Curry)

Ingredients for making Freshly Spiced Cluster Beans:


Cluster Beans 300 gms
Oil 2 tb spoons
Salt to taste
Mustard seeds , urad dal  for seasoning 1/2 tea spoon each
Jagerry powder 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves
Freshly grated coconut 2 tb spoon


For Curry Powder:


Coriander seeds 2 tb spoons
Red chillies 5
Chana dal (Bengal gram) 1 tb spoon
Urad dal 2 tea spoons
Pepper 1/2 tea spoon
Cumin seed 1/4 tea spoon














Dry roast the above ingredients in a pan till the dals become dark red and coarsely powder them and keep aside.




How to make Freshly Spiced Cluster Beans?


Add salt and a pinch of turmeric powder to the chopped cluster beans. Sprinkle handful of water and pressure cook them to 3 whistles.


Heat a pan with 2 tb spoons of oil and do the seasoning with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.


Once they splutter add the boiled vegetable to it and cook till it becomes dry without any water. 













Add the jagerry powder and stir well. Check out for salt.


Now add the curry powder and the grated coconut and stir well for a minute.


Switch off the stove.
