Mixed Dals with Spinach

An easy to make delicious, healthy and creamy side dish with wonderful combo of Spinach / Palak , Dals, Onions & Tomato. This single side dish is enough for the  day to have with rotis and rice.

Ingredients for making  Mixed Dals with Spinach / Palak


Washed and finely chopped Spinach / Palak 1 bowl
Green chillies slitted 2
Shallots / Baby Onions 6 to 8
Chopped Tomatoes from 2 tomatoes
Moongh dal 2 tb spoons
Thur dal 1 tb spoon
Chana dal 1 tb spoon
Coriander seed powder 2 tea spoons
Red chilli powder 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 tea spoon
Thick Coconut milk 1 cup (200 ml)
Salt to taste



How to make Mixed Dals with Spinach?


Take a cooker pan.

Add all the ingredients mentioned above except coconut milk and salt  in the pan.

Add 2 cups of water.

Close the lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles.

Wait for the steam to release.











Remove the lid and mash well with a ladle and switch on stove.

Add salt and allow it to boil for a minute.

Pour the coconut milk into it and stir for few seconds and switch off the stove.

Saute it with mustard seeds, urad dal and a red chilli in a tea spoon of coconut oil.
