Refreshing Rava Idli

Ingredients for making Rava Idli:


Rava / Sooji / Semolina 250 gms
Blended curd without lumps and without sourness 250 ml
Salt to taste
Grated Carrot from 1 carrot
Oil or Ghee 2 tea spoons
Finely chopped green chillies 1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds, Black gram and Chana dal for seasoning
Few cashews chopped
Finely chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves 1 tb spoon
Eno fruit salt 1/2 tea spoon



How to make Rava Idlis:


Heat a Pan with oil or ghee. Add the mustard seeds, dals and cashews. Wait till they splutter and become golden brown. Put curry leaves, coriander leaves and green chillies.










Add the the rava/semolina and keep frying in medium flame for 2 minutes.

Then add the grated coconut and salt and stir for a minute.
Switch off the stove.

Allow the stuff to cool down.

Mean while add some water to the blended curd and bring it to milk shake consistency.










After the stuff becomes cool pour the curd to ti and mix well.

Bring the batter to Idli batter consistency adding water if necessary.
Grease the Idli plates.

add the eno salt at this stage and give few fast stirs.

Pour the batter with a ladle and fill the idli plates.

In medium flame steam them out for 15 minutes.

Now the rava idlis are ready to refresh you with Sambhar or Chutney.
