Maize Flour Paratha (Makkai ka Paratha)

It has been a long time wish  to make Maize flour roti,  but I was postponing it since Maize flour has very less adhesive nature. Even after browsing so many blogs I didnt get confidence.   So,I switched over  from making roti and landed in making Maize flour  Paratha and amazingly the outcome was very successful...

Ingredients for making Maize Flour Paratha:

Preparation time: 20 minutes, Cooking time: 15 minutes
Serves: 6


Maize Flour 2 cups
Whole wheat Flour 4 cups
Oil 2 tb spoons
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder 1/2 tea spoon
Ajwain seeds (Omam) 1/2 tea spoon 


How to make Maize Flour Paratha?


Add water and 1 tb spoon of oil with required salt and knead the roti dough with the whole wheat flour and keep aside.

Dry roast the ajwain seeds in a pan for a minute in low flame and powder it. Add the powder, chilli powder and salt to the maize flour with 1 tb spoon of oil and knead to a soft dough by adding water little by little.








 





Make lemon size balls of it and keep aside.



Now make small rotis out of the wheat dough and keep the maize flour balls in the middle. Bring all the corners to the middle and seal it. 
















Dust the ball with the wheat flour and again roll into thick rotis.













Heat a tawa and cook the Paratha on both sides with oil or ghee.

These parathas tastes yummy with fresh creamy butter.
