Dried Spicy Peas Curry

Peas coated with fresh spices serves as the lip smacking side dish for  rice and roti. This is a spicy version of peas curry that goes very well even with curd rice for lunch box and  can also be had as evening snack with hot tea or coffee...


Ingredients for making Dried Spicy Peas Curry for Rice and Roti:


Dried Peas 250 gms
Chopped onions from 2 onions
Red chillies 4
Coriander seeds 2 tea spoons
Cumin seeds 1/2 tea spoon
Saunf 1/4 tea spoon (Fennel seeds)
Grated fresh coconut 2 tb spoons
Garlic heads 2
Curry leaves
Oil 3 tea spoons
Mustard seeds





How to make Dried Spicy Peas Curry for Rice and Roti?


Wash and soak the green peas overnight.
Pressure cook with salt and turmeric powder for 3 to 4 whistles and keep aside.
In a pan dry roast coriander seeds, saunf, cumin seeds and red chillies till nice aroma comes and keep aside.
Add the roasted items after they get cooled down with coconut and garlic and make a coarse of powder of it and keep aside.
Heat a pan with oil and saute it with mustard seeds and currt leaves. Fry the onions till they become transparent.
Now add the boiled peas and stir well till they become dry with out water.
add the grounded powder to it and mix well.
The spicy peas curry is ready to serve now.
