Some years back I watched in a television channel, a famous chef doing Thattai with Rice flour and Roasted gram flour instead of Rice four and Urad dhal powder. Thattai is a traditional crispy snack that tastes yummy. I tried it at home and came out very well. Easy to make and the thattais came out crispy and fluffy in golden brown colour. Try this easy Thattai for this festival season..
Ingredients needed for making Thattais:

Roasted gram |
Processed Raw Rice flour 4 cups.
(After powdering the rice, sieve it and warm it up in a dry kadai till the flour becomes warm and keep aside)
Rosted gram powder (Pottukadalai powder) 1 cup (Sieved)
Red chilli powder 2 tea spoons (or) Green chilli paste 2 tea spoons
Finely chopped curry leaves
Soaked Chana dhal 2 tb spns
Hing 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Ghee or butter 2 table spoon

Powdered roasted gram |
How to make Thattais?
1. Soak Chana dhal (Kadalai paruppu / Bengal gram) for an hour in water, drain the water and keep the gram aside.
2. Mix The two flours, salt, red chilli powder, hing powder and ghee and mix well.
3. Add the chopped curry leaves and soaked gram.
4. Add enough water and make it into a dough of Chappathi / roti dough consistency.
5. Take a greased plastic sheet. Make small rounds with the dough on the plastic sheets greasing your fingers.
6. With a sharp stick make holes or punches on the rounds.
7. Heat the oil and fry them to golden brown.
